Like i said before, good luck making them fit properly since they're to big. At least buy real harnesses not enay crap. Oh and where are you going to mount the harnesses??

They're only 20" wide. My stock seats are over that.

Yeah the bottom cushions are, but the reclining lever/mechanism is what rubs on the tranny tunnel plus the shoulder bolsters are wider than the cushion and will rub the door panels.

I sent a message to the seller to confirm the 20" dimension, or cancel the order. Problem is, they already started shipping. I wonder what they'll tell me.

If they fit but are tight, I can live with that. I'm worried that I won't be able to close the door or roll up the window. Just me driving it, so I really don't care is they don't slide easily. Never having had racing buckets, I was concerned that the lack of adjustment meant that they sit too upright, instead of slightly reclined like I prefer. I suppose I could mess with the mounting. For now, we'll just have to wait and see.

Got the reply. Already shipped. It's a speed shop out of California. I sent the message late last night, as the tracking showed that they had issued the number, but not submitted the package. This morning, it showed the package was shipped out after they closed the office. Should be here within a week.

They asked if I want an RMA#, but I think I'll wait and see how they fit. The guy said that they may be a little tight, but should fit, as they've sold them for Miatas before. He said the bolsters at the shoulder are 22", and if you look at the pic, they stick out quite a bit more than the bottom. As long as they don't hit the window or prevent the door from closing, I'll be okay with them.

I was sitting in the removed stock seat last night, and it's way more comfortable than my computer chair. I think I'll take the passenger side and mount it to the computer chair base. Custom office seating!

I don't intend to race, so eBay harnesses is about all I want. Custom colors, too. Really, all I want is seatbelts, and I'm considering the harness just because the stock receiver is going to be a bitch to make secure.

As to mounting, I have no idea. I was thinking that I could remove the back brace thing and mount in a harness bar sized tube. Painted or covered with black tape? I'll do some searching over on Miataturbo.net to see what other people do. Not everyone has a full cage or rollbar.

If all else fails, I'll just drill a hole in the tunnel with a backing plate, and mount them there.

Seats are in. I tried them, and although they are a pretty tight fit, I think I can make them work. After all, I won't really be adjusting them much, so rubbing shouldn't be a problem.

I'm using the stock sliders. I'll have to fabricate brackets, and make one to hold the stock seatbelt rail thing as well.

I find the lack of pics disturbing.

My choice of words was poor. Seats are in the garage. They are currently unassembled, and awaiting my crude attempts at brackets. I meant to cut some steel at work, but completely forgot.

I need to make cardboard templates, which I will try to do this weekend. Then I'll swing by work to cut some steel (.078 thick stainless, from the scrap bin) and bend them up. Hopefully, I can come home and just bolt everything together.

I am going to use the stock sliders, and make brackets for the new seats. Drawing has been made, and I'm waiting for the CNC guys at work to cut them out for me. Found a piece of .12" stainless that should work well. Pics when they're done.
